World Hearing Day is observed on 03 March each year around the globe. The campaign is organized by the Office of Prevention of Blindness and Deafness, an organ of the World Health Organization. Earlier this event began in 2007 as International Ear Care Day. Later, in 2016, the name got changed to World Hearing Day. Let us give you some more details about this day aimed at improving your hearing care.

Objective of World Hearing Day

The main objectives behind the World Hearing Day are “to share information and promote actions towards the prevention of hearing loss and improved hearing care”. To achieve these objective, each year WHO chooses a theme, develops educational materials around the chosen theme and makes the educational material available for free in several languages worldwide.

World Hearing Day 2121 Theme: Hearing Care for All

As it is evident by the theme “Hearing Care for All”, this year’s theme is dedicated to present a global call to action to promote hearing care for everybody at every age. World Hearing Day 2021 is all the more important as it will mark the launching of the first ever ‘World Report on Hearing’. The World Report will act as an evidence-based guide for actions required for the integration of hearing care services into universal health coverage.
