In order to fulfill its commitment towards the United Nations Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, India enacted the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act (RPWD) in the year 2016. In Hindi this Act is known as the Divyangjan Adhikaar Kanoon 2016. As we have informed earlier, now in India, persons with disabilities are referred to as Divyangjan in Hindi. WeCapable also published as to why we oppose the use of this term Divyangjan.
We have published salient features of this act and have also prepared an infographic on this subject. However, many of WeCapable readers have been facing difficulty in understanding the Act because of the language. They wanted crisp information in Hindi.
