Intelligence has always been a fascinating matter for human beings. Though intelligence is something that cannot be measured, we have found a way to give a numerical value to our intelligence level – IQ tests!

IQ tests measure a person’s intelligence level and mark it numerically. An average person has an IQ level ranging between 85 and 115. A person is said to be a genius if he or she has an intelligence quotient of 130 and above.

Here we are listing a few people with very high IQs. By the way, Albert Einstein, who is generally considered to be the most genius person in history, had an IQ level of 160.

And, people listed here have IQs even above the level of Einstein!

1. Dr. Evangelos Katsioulis (IQ Level = 198-205)

Dr. Evangelos Katsioulis is the founder of the World Intelligence Network (WIN), an international organization of high IQ societies. He had an IQ level of 205 on Stanford-Binet scale as a teenager. As an adult, Dr. Katsioulis’ IQ level was measured to be 198 (according to the 2012 record). This is the highest iq level ever measured in the world. The intelligence of this Greek physician and physiatrist is considered unrivaled in various fields. He has obtained MSc, MA, MD, and Ph.D. in addition to Philosophy and Medical Research Technology and several other degrees.

2. Richard G. Rosner (IQ Level = 192-198)

Richard G. Rosner, fondly known as Rick Rosner, is an American television writer. He took more than 30 IQ tests and scored between 192 and 198. Before becoming a television writer and reality TV personality Rick worked as a roller-skate waiter, bouncer, stripper, and nude model.

3. Garry Kasparov (IQ Level = 194)

Garry Kimovich Kasparov, a Russian chess grandmaster, has an IQ level of 194. Apart from being a former world champion in chess, he is also a writer and political activist, and commentator. Kasparov ranked No. 1 from 1984 to his retirement in 2005.

4. Philip Emeagwali (IQ Level = 190)

Philip Emeagwali is a Nigeria-born engineer, computer scientist, mathematician, and geologist with an IQ score of 190. He is not just a person with a high IQ but also high grit and determination. He had to drop out of school because of the Nigerian-Biafran war but he went on to earn three Master’s degrees in Mathematics, Environmental, and Marine Engineering from different universities.

5. Mislav Predavec (IQ Level = 190)

Mislav Predavec, a Croatian mathematics professor, has an IQ of 190. Taking a tough intelligence test is his hobby and so he has founded an exclusive IQ society that is named GenerIQ. He has a very wide IQ network. Apart from being a mathematics professor Predavec also runs a trading company.

6. Judit Polgar (IQ Level = 170)

Judit Polgar, the Hungarian chess grandmaster has an IQ of 170. She is considered the strongest female chess player of all time and one of the greatest chess players ever. She is among the pioneer of women in chess. Polgar earned the title of chess grandmaster at the age of 15 and set the record of achieving the title at the youngest age.

7. Paul Allen (IQ Level = 160-170)

Paul Gardner Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft Corporation scored between 160 and 170 on IQ tests. He was a school-time buddy of Bill Gates who convinced him for an entrepreneurial venture that turned out to be the world’s largest personal computer software company. He was a business magnate, researcher, computer programmer, investor, and philanthropist. Paul Allen founded many business ventures as well as research and educational institutions.

8. Stephen Hawking (IQ Level = 160)

Stephen Hawking was one of the most famous scientist the world has ever seen. Prof. Hawking was confined to a special wheelchair mounted with a computer that used to speak for him. He had lost speech due to ALS. Prof Hawking was an eminent theoretical physicist who made significant breakthroughs about the functioning of the universe. Discovery of Hawking radiation is among several of his important scientific contributions. Prof. Hawking was believed to have an IQ level of 160 (same as that of Albert Einstein).

The above-given list is just a minuscule sample from the huge list of people with very high IQs. Mensa, the oldest high IQ society that accepts only the top 2% of high IQ people as members and it has around 1,45,000 members. Further, it is also important to know that IQ scores have always been a matter of debate. Many individuals claiming high IQ scores too have been under heat for making fake or exaggerated claims. And, IQ scores of many old achievers like Newton and Leonardo Da Vinci are just ‘estimated’ and not actually calculated.
